The Winds of Change

img_8496

If you find yourself adrift,

and can see no land in sight-

If a stillness overcomes you,

with the darkening of the light.

Hold onto your destination,

your course will soon resume its pace-

All is not lost in drifting,

reflection dwells within its grace.

So gather wisdom in the solace,

as echantment feeds your soul-

Whilst you float atop the glass,

a haunting stillness makes you whole.

On the outskirts of the abyss,

you can see the lightning spark-

It fortells the storm approching,

as a harbinger in the dark.

So stay safe inside your boat,

and make it steady for the storm-

Wrap yourself in hope,

and let the journey keep you warm.

For the seas will toss and test you,

but you must remain steadfast-

So hold on tight

with all your might,

until that storm has passed.

Facing down the squall,

will bring you through the arduous night-

And when the skies are clear,

you’ll be stronger for the fight.

For a storm, it can be weathered,

and the light returns with dawn-

So leave your sails unfurled,

you must stay the course you’ve drawn.

Oh, the winds of change are brewing,

let them fill your empty sails-

As they blow away your doubts,

with the force of mighty gales.

You must harness what they bring you,

to propel you towards the shore-

Allow the power of their movement,

to bring you closer to much more.

May they carry you out of the tempest,

and ever guide your compass true-

For those winds of change are coming……….

so just hold on,

til they do.

    1. I wrote this poem. I wrote it about being stuck, or losing steam, or experiencing the loss of hope. How we all lose momentum, but we can also find beauty in the stillness.
