About Kellee Kate

imageI am a mother of two boys. Logan is 29 and Jaxen is 24.

I am currently a newlywed, just married in October 2017 to an amazing man who works as boat Captain both overseas as well as out of the Gulf of Mexico.

My dream is to turn our home, which we call The Pine Creek Lodge, into a Lodge style Bed and Breakfast nestled here in the Cascade mountains (but for now I settle for hosting friends and family as often as possible).

I have recently lost 151 pounds with Weight Watchers on a journey to improve my overall health, and have reversed all of my previously diagnosed medical conditions.

I now enjoy cooking, and have a Vegan food blog called The Enchanted Garden Goddess that I post from here in the Lodge kitchen.

I adore my friends, and would do anything for them.

I am a gypsy in my soul, I love to travel into the mystic and take road trips while practicing accidental tourism.

I am an extremely spiritual person and hold dear the rituals and traditions of my Celtic ancestors.

I enjoy belly dancing, henna tattooing and participate in historical reenactment with the SCA.

I am an artist, a coffee guru, and an astronomy buff.

I also enjoy playing board games and cards.

I look forward to the snow. I love to go camping, and the smell of a campfire.

My favorite season is the Fall, and my favorite holiday is Halloween (Samhain for some of us).

I enjoy making people laugh, and wish I was brave enough to do stand-up comedy.

Also I hope that in the years to come I will make it to Scotland to retrace the steps of my Gramps and meet the family I have there.

Since reaching my goal weight in 2013, I have completed 6 half marathons, jumped out of perfectly good airplanes, white water rafted, and zip lined through the canopy of a forest.

I was also featured in January 2016 on People.com in association with their annual “Half Their Size”issue.

And now I am excited every day for what comes next, because it’s the same hat, but a different me, and the best is yet to come!

  1. Hi there! So I can reach your blog from the connect area in the WW app. I just want to mark it as I favorite. Do you sometimes blog about a different story than on the connect site. I like you writing, attitude, and amazing progress. I went to Starbucks ( received gift certificate for Mother’s Day) and I clearly feel like crap. The wind here in the Boise area can be a bear, but I think I am going to walk anyway. I know I will feel better. And I am pulling on my speed dry walking clothes, I don’t care if the ripples show!!!!

    1. Hi Kathy! I have put some links on my connect page that will take you to my blog. (You can also subscribe to the blog with your email address, and you will get a notification every time there is a new post.) And over the last month I have been taking the stories that I had previously posted on connect and re-posting them after adding additional content. (I did post one last month called “the artist” that was new). Here in the blog I am able to tell more of each story than I was able to do before. Starting at the end of this month all of the stories and posts here on the blog will be completely new content and stories that were previously unpublished. Thank you so much for letting me know that you like what I am writing. I have a very close friend who lives in Boise so I know what you mean about the wind. Enjoy your walk!

  2. I met you on Connect too! What a great tool WW put out there!
I would just like to thank you for your inspiring posts – you are amazing! I truly do feel very connected. Our stories are different, but much of what you say resonates with me. Words fail me – which doesn’t happen often.
I just really wanted to leave you a message to thank you – you are a beautiful soul, thank you for sharing with Connect and with me! (solucky777)

BTW – you could totally do the stand-up thing 😉

    1. Thanks for the encouragement! It really does mean a lot to me that you took the time to tell me how you feel. I think the standup comedy thing has always eluded me, because there’s such a risk of rejection. I mean, sometimes I think I’m funny, and then my kids just stand there staring at me….blinking, and I hear crickets. At least with the blog, if nobody laughs, I don’t hear the joke bomb!😀

  3. I love your reflections! Some are hysterically funny, all are thought provoking and resonate with truth. Having lost 46 pounds and maintaining for years, I can relate to the frustrations of being overweight. I can’t always see the humor, and that is what you’ve allowed me to see in your writing. I also agree that you could do the stand up comedy routine, you might want to stretch in that direction!!! Keep up the good work in both writing and maintaining, and happy early wedding wishes!!!!
